So I'm here to help.
Margaret Wallace is my working class girl, shes a year above but has left school now. She lives in irvingly but spends most of her time in Hogsmeade now via work and friends there. She would possibly be a play buddy.
Once school starts I have
Alys Gower who is my little cosmic seer girl, shes wealthy middle class but would not mind which friends she keeps whether or not they end in the same house.
Jocasta Flint is slytherin and would not approve of Kermit's blood or social class and once she finds her feet she is going to be channelling draco malfoy a bit so would be fun as an antagonistic relationship, possibly with the manipulation side of things getting Kermit to do stuff for her.
Depending on which house he ends up in I have lots of options but particualry if there is hufflepuff gold added to his name, Antelope Grace and Dorothea Potts would both love to take the little vulnerable urchin under their wing.
Is there anything in particular
Margaret Wallace commonly does around Hogsmeade? Other than her job at the tea room?
I bet Kermit would get along with
Alys Gower. I mean, he'd get along with anybody who doesn't get offended by him prattling about some niche nerdy thing... but I think her being slightly odd would also open up a world of curiosity from him? So she might get peppered with questions...
Jocasta Flint please yes be mean to him. Bully him. Ruin his day. Get him in trouble PLEASE. I would genuinely love to have her antagonize him persistently during the school year >.> if you'd be down.
I will be back if he lands gold

Selene Gallivan How would she respond to being dragged into a stray game with a stray child?

If Kermit doesn't mind hearing about ships and boats and the Navy, then Silas can gladly fill any quiet space if they spend time together. He's not one to bully or manipulate, either, but could easily share in the idea of big dreams for a fellow kid who wants more to life than Hogwarts.
At Hogwarts is also Millie Potts and Ravenclaw prefect, if he winds up in her house. They might have a chance to meet otherwise, especially if he enjoys the library or she catches him breaking rules.
And my Charley Goode is a former slums dweller, often visitor, and is familiar with Kermit's older sister. She's all too happy to lead someone astray if Kermit needs misleading for summer or holiday breaks. How is he at climbing trees or buildings?
Oh yes please I bet Kermit and
Silas Merlion would get along super well. Kermit wouldn't mind hearing about ships and such at ALL he'd find it fascinating. Silas might have to hear equally as much about clocks though... clockwork and other mechanics... or just whatever Kermit is reading about at any given time. He's voracious with his books.
Millie Potts He absolutely enjoys the library. I foresee him being a strong Ravenclaw candidate, and if things work out with
Jocasta Flint he may well be getting uh... tricked? Probably? Into getting himself into trouble :3
Man I love
Charley Goode so much. He's not the best at climbing trees. He's tiny, and was sickly, and is now reasonably frail, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't TRY and let's be real it'd probably be good for him to learn to be able to climb trees.
