Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.

Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
The year would soon be coming to a close and Perseus was quite looking forward to seeing what the new year would consist of. His December and January were quite booked up already when it came to social events and work obligations combined. Tonight was a social thing though which he hoped would be quite fun. As he expected of a Malfoy affair, the masquerade was a sight to behold. His own jeweled mask was being dutifully worn as he enjoyed his time.
"Is there room on your dance card for me?" Perseus asked of a young woman he had begun a conversation with whilst getting refreshments.
The great benefit of being the host of a party was that one got to dictate the terms. Her mama, hostess extraordinaire that she was, seemed to have taken this to heart by inviting a bevy of gentlemen and, if Angeline was not much mistaken, far fewer ladies than usual. Perhaps it was her imagination? Perhaps the New Year had drawn them all to dark corners and she was being paranoid?
To her mother’s credit though was the fact that it seemed to be doing the trick.
“Always, Mr Flint,” Angel answered with a flutter, turning her nearly full card up and making a show of pencilling him in for two. “Are you looking forward to the New Year? I expect the Hospital is terribly busy this time of year.”
time of death: when MJ dropped this heart-stopping set
Perseus chuckled in idle amusement as Miss Malfoy made a show of pencilling him into her card. It looked quite full so he counted himself lucky. The Malfoy women were desirable matches on paper so he had no idea why the lot of them were still yet to be wed.
"That I am and it does tend to be. Snow and ice tend to make for quite the injuries. As well as people both accidentally and purposely giving cursed artifacts to each other." Christmas was always a hot activity for such things.
Angel stopped pencilling and looked at him over her card. Surely, he was jesting?
“Do people really do that?” She asked incredulously, privately wondering where people got such things and if she could find one for her sisters at short notice.
