ACAB | REP 6- | PERFORMANCE

What: Monster Melee at the Velvet Veil
Who: Anyone who attends the club
Cost: Your cover charge buys your first drink. Subsequent libations or access to the more exclusive areas of the club at your expense.
Where: The Velvet Veil, London
Why: Halloween. Sexy.
When: Oct 17, 1895

On the stage this evening an assortment of "monsters" battle for supremacy across a four-part competition.
Part 1: a dance performance. This will be sexy.
Part 2: a "talent" show. This aims to be comedic and plays on a lot of tropes/stereotypes about the beings in question.
Part 3: popularity contest- reps from each group with venture out into the house and attempt to win you over to their side (by flirting with you)(or making fun of you)(or both)
Part 4: the final faceoff- a wrestling match on stage. This will also be sexy.

The drinks on offer are all themed like the "monsters" competing and drinking one is how you show support for your favorite group. They also each have unannounced but relatively subtle side effects:

TEAM VAMPIRE: a blood red drink, tastes like cherry and rum. Makes other people's skin look yummy.
TEAM WEREWOLF: yellow in the light, blue in the shadow, tastes sweet and tart like cranberries. Brings out your animal side...
TEAM SPIRIT: translucent whiteish color, citrus flavor, at least twice as strong as the other drinks because the poltergeist is pouring them heavy but they don't taste like it. Might make some of your clothes disappear (or maybe that's just you being way more drunk than you realized)
TEAM GIANT: a very tall glass of amber liquid. Tastes a bit like apple cider. Makes you look a big bigger (or at least makes your assets look bigger...)

What: A Séance with Madame Rosabel
Who: Hosted by The Velvet Veil, a public event

Where: Member's Only Wing at The Velvet Veil
Why: Necromancy but make it sexy~
When: October 8, 1895

All decor has been turned black for the occasion. The stage is ringed by black candles that release an enchanted essence, heightening the senses—particularly fear. In hushed tones, Madam Rosabel will call "volunteers" to the round table on stage, where her crystal orb sits. Chairs have been set up in semicircular rows for the audience, who is encouraged to jeer, laugh, or gasp with drinks in hand.

Madame will ask the volunteer if they wish to reach a “loved one, an enemy, or the unknown.” Who you request may not be the one who comes through, and they may not be kind or sensical.

What: Halloween at Fortescue’s Ice Cream
Who: Hosted by the Fortescue family. Open to everyone of all ages, and ghosts! (Yes, there’s a flavor just for you!)
Cost: Standard ice cream prices
Where: Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour, Diagon Alley
Why:~~Winter months are slow for ice cream~~ Because October deserves both tricks and treats, and ice cream is obviously the best way to celebrate.
When: 1 October 1895, during normal operating hours

Fortescue’s will be decorated for Halloween: paper bats, enchanted cobwebs, and jack-o’-lanterns that won’t stop winking at you no matter where you stand in the store. Seasonal October flavors (which can be found here) will be debuted for the event. Ghosts are encouraged to attend and taste their special treat, which will of course, be free of charge! There will be a mystery wheel for people to spin, in which they’ll be given a random seasonal flavor.

Guests are invited to try to win challenges which will run every hour or so for the entirety of the shop’s operating hours. Members of the Fortescue family will be running them.
The Rotten Fruit Ripple Bowl Challenge: Can a living soul manage to finish the entire ghostly concoction without gagging? (Ghosts can join this challenge, although they can’t win the prize!)
Brain Freeze Blitz: First to finish a scoop of extra-chilled Cobweb Cotton without clutching their head in agony wins.
Blood Orange Stain Test: Eat an entire scoop without letting it stain your lips bright red. Fail, and you look like a vampire for the rest of the day.
Bat Attack: The enchanted paper bats fluttering around the shop will swoop low, carrying tiny droplets of flavored syrups off the end of their wings. of flavored syrup. The challenge is simple in theory: catch as many droplets on your tongue as you can in one minute.

Winners get bragging rights, free scoops, or mystery coupons for future visits. Losers… well, they still get ice cream. So really, no one loses today.

What: Unofficial Hogwarts Halloween Party
Who: Hosted by Benedict Hunter and a few of his fellow 6th and 7th years.
Invitees: (all on the condition they will keep the traditional secrecy of the party.)

5th-7th years who can be trusted
Book club kids, but only those that are cool enough to get away with being in years 3 and 4.
Anne Moony pointed out that usually year 3 and 4 quidditch players are also usually invited. Thats probably a Black thing, but she helped set up the party and he doesnt want to rub her up the wrong way. So them too.

Cost: None, but all quests will be expected to donate a few strands of hair, a fingernails clipping or some similar gift to be added to a ritual to bind them all under a joyous hallowed evening. (Mechanically this does absolutely nothing, but isn't it fun? - if anyone genuinely asks or expresses concern, Ben will tell them its not real magic)
Where: The Room of Requirement
Why: as usual, for poor teenage choices and to celebrate a magical night.
When: Oct 31, at night!

Ben has opted to take up the torch from the old head boy as he assumes the new one probably wont. There will be alcohol, snacks taken from the kitchen and smuggled in by party goers and anything else the room of requirements provides. The usual whisper network for admittance will be in place. Unfortunately unlike Sirius, Ben does not had a spiritus sancti contact of his own so won't have any. Word is though he has access to the best catnip in Hogsmeade so that room will be popping off.

What: Lord and Lady Westenra's Halloween Masquerade
Who: UC from all over Europe. A big presence of German/former Prussian/Austrian ton specifically, his favorites. (It’s a good opportunity for ladies who haven’t done well in the latest English season to potentially snag a rich foreigner.) Additionally, anyone peripheral to the UC but that might have dealings underground with Gil probably got an invite and a suit/dress sent to them, as needed. This year invitations have been sent to Ishmael and the other vampires as well. <3 Ghosts also welcome!
Cost: none - invitations and portkeys sent
Where: "Nachzehrer-Nachlass" (Gil's private estate that very rarely opens to the public. If one wanders just too far, they might come across any number of bizarre things he's collected over the centuries. Or a crypt. There's definitely a crypt.)
Why: Gilbert's Birthday! Blame Olive
When: October 13

Detail on the house and gardens. Costumes and masques encouraged to help the supernatural fit in a little less obviously.

*For obvious reasons, this event is not being advertised as hosted by vampires. Gil does however employ human staff and they took care of most of the prep, with whatever whims Az decides to throw on top. (She's always his main consort.) Gilbert finds infinite amusement being surrounded by a giant buffet as a gift to himself for his birthday and is sentimental enough to bring them all to his own house. There may or may not be an opening for his birthday gift of choice this evening. //eyes
