Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

ACAB* | ANY REP | RACES & FUN

What: Hippogriff Race Week-end at the Sanditon
Who: Hosted by Herbert Fudge and the Sanditon Resort, and open to all!
Cost: Cheap seats are 10k; middling seats are 3s, and the Good Seats are 2G a ticket. accomodations are, of course, extra.
Where: Sanditon Resort, Sussex
Why: Summer Fun!
When: July 24th-26th

Herbert Fudge is flirting with his magizoologist roots and hosting a hippogriff race weekend!

THURSDAY: Those who have purchased their race day tickets in advance are invited to a Hippogriff meet & greet in a paddock set up on the edge of the resort. Patrons are reminded to be on their best behaviour, as the resort is not liable for incidents brought on by offending these guests of honour. There will also be sailboat tours of the race course, which goes out over the water and along the coast.

FRIDAY: The Sanditon Boardwalk is dressed to impress, bringing out all the bells & whistles the resort has to offer! The resort will be providing a picnic lunch to all guests, as well as selling picnic luncheon baskets on the boardwalk, so that they might take advantage of the perpetually good weather. This is also the day of our novice's race, with proceeds going to the Society for the Preservation of British Beasts.

SATURDAY: The big kahuna! This afternoon sees the official race, following which there will be an awards ceremoy for both races. In the evening, MC and UC race attendees are invited to a ball in the resort's assembly rooms, while the Inn will no doubt be a jovial place for any WC spectators to take a load off.

A note on seats:
  • Cheap Seats: Static, bench-style bleachers at the starting/finish line and at the midpoint of the track. Can see most of the land action or most of the sky/above water action. Complementary leomonade.
  • Medium Seats: More comfortable static seats. Can see most of the land action or most of the sky/above water action. Participants have a charmed seashell that, when held to their ear, will allow them to hear the play-by-play of the race. Complementary lemonade and biscuits.
  • Best Seats: Actually magic carpets that participants can direct to move at their own pace. Each "box"/carpet comes with an enchanted hand mirror to track your preferred hippogriff's progress! Complementary lemonade, champagne, and macarons.
And of course, the regular Sanditon offerings will be avaialble throughout!

UCAB* | ANY* REP | "Country" Week-End

What: Rowle Annual Country Week-End
Who: Hosted by the Rowle family, specifically Robert Rowle and Sybilla Rowle, for the right sort of society people each year. The list is SLIGHTLY more liberal than last year's, but that doesn't say a ton. The formal guest list is here—please check before deviating!
Cost:
Where: “The Castle”, Nevis Range, Scotland

It used to have a proper name, but it’s been in the family for literally hundreds of years. This “country home” of the Rowle family is actually a castle hewn into the Nevis range in Scotland. Muggles who get too close will feel a distinct sensation that they have forgotten something terribly important, and livestock left to graze nearby are occasionally eaten by Algernon Rowle’s prized lions. Each of the married Rowle children have their own wing within the castle added on when they marry like some sort of weird Encanto deal.

Why: #Tradition
When: July 18th-21st
FRIDAY: Guests to arrive after lunch; tea and the usual accompanyments will be served throughout the afternoon in case you get peckish, though. Formal dinner in the evening, followed by cards, parlour games, general loitering, etc.

SATURDAY: Married ladies will, of course, breakfast in bed. Unmarried ladies, gentlemen, and weird married ladies will start the day with breakfast. Following this, the men will go hunting while the ladies will do... lady things? See the list of general amusements below. They will meet the men for lunch in the wilds, if they so choose. Formal dinner. A famed soprano has been brought in to sing for everyone in the evening.

SUNDAY: A more casual day with informal meals, owing to the ball in the evening.

MONDAY: Depart after breakfast.

Throughout their stay, guests may engage in...
  • Organized tours of the castle or take an unauthorized one away from prying eyes
  • Riding (horses provided)
  • Falconry (BYOB—bring your own bird!)
  • Badminton
  • Pall Mall
  • Tour the gardens, including a hedge maze
  • Various parlour games and other typical indoor activities
  • Assorted instruments in public areas of the dwelling
  • Hide in your room like a weird loner
  • Go for a bit of a ramble
Basically, it is a shockingly large number of people invited to one "house" for a weekend, more intimate than general society but still very much A Party of sorts.

UCAB/MCAB | REP 7+ | BALL

What: The Summer Flame Ball
Who: The Wolff family invites those of respectable society to enjoy a delightful event that celebrates the summer heat for what it is!
Cost: N/A
Where: Wolff House, London
Why: Summer! and hurling
When: July 4th, 1895

Festivities will begin mid-afternoon with a lovely featuring of the garden with drinks, snacks, and games. Decor will feature fire-like flowers imported from different countries such as the flame lily, the flame peony, the red spider lily, the blaze orange Asiatic lily, and the lucifer canna lily. Any such flower that doesn't typically bloom during this season are aided via magic.
As time passes towards evening, the party is guided into the ballroom of the home, which is supplementary illuminated via candlelight. The entire ballroom has been magically expanded to allow for mingling and dancing, while also allowing for the primary illumination via a magical bonfire that does emit a low heat, but does not burn to the touch. Dining is provided at the sides of the ballroom with various levels of spices from different countries, though servers are available to bring more light foods upon request.
A firework show featuring yellows and reds are featured near the end of the event for a full hour, in which guests are invited back to the gardens for viewing.

ACAB | REP 4+ | CHARITY BALL

What: Healthcare for the Disadvantaged Charity Ball
Who: Open to anyone to enjoy the festivities, aside from someone of bad reputation (sorry).
Cost: N/A - Only donations, which those of means are incredibly encouraged to do
Where: Ballroom of the Darlington Home, Wellingtonshire, Hogsmeade
Why: Charity and Community!
When: July 13th, 1895

The ballroom has been exponentially enlarged for all of the festivities. Animal acts and magical performances are laced throughout the ballroom, with plenty of space for fairly large groups to dance at their leisure. Food that would feel of luxurious comfort in London is served in plenty for all guests, regardless of class or donations. Games more aligned to a festival line the walls are paid, going towards charity, and patrons can donate anonymously to the games specifically so that children of lesser means can join in the fun while still donating to charity. Throughout the event, people can pay for as many tickets as they want to enter into a raffle for three luxurious gift baskets of varying contents that will be announced at the end of the night, all ticket payments - of course - will be contributed towards charity.
