Did You Know?
One of the cheapest homeless shelters in Victorian London charged four pennies to sleep in a coffin. Which was... still better than sleeping upright against a rope? — Jordan / Lynn
If he was being completely honest, the situation didn't look good, but Sylvano was not in the habit of being completely honest about anything. No reason to start now.

The Adulterated Market

Ronan chuckled at the girl's remark. "Me pay to see that." They arrived at the tenement house, shoved beside a bunch of other houses that looked just a dismal as their lot. The kids ran about save for Josiah who felt he was too old for child like games and rather leaned against the door way with a rather broody scowl.

Ronan dodged the wee ones who were kicking some skull around as a ball, and slipped by the bachelor's room who were going in and out as usual. She felt James eyes on her, a fellow Irish man who had the hots for her for quite some time, all of which she cast aside, including his leering gaze after her arse. They had been in a number of fights since James arrival and currently it was two for two and a question as to who would instigate the next blow.

For once though the bonnie red head kept to herself, not one to care to start scenes in front of Alina after a good day such as this. Reaching the room they shared with the other families she noted Harold asleep and Martha knitting. The young married couple were probably kanoodling somewhere and as for the single woman who knew.

"Auntie I bet is at work still." She whispered. There was a basket of fake flowers the children had helped make earlier ready to be sold on the street.

The young redhead witch smiled at the other kids, and Marie waved excitedly before being tugged away to play some more. Alina scrunched her nose playfully at Josiah, who had turned into a bit of a prick in the last couple years.

The man known as James was staring again, and Alina's expression darkened once she noticed. Passing him, she gave him a death glare like no other, not that the idiot even noticed as he stared at Alina's mother. It sickened her.

Noticing that Harold was still asleep when they walked in, Alina had an instinct to quickly and quietly get back outside. It was almost time for him to get up, sure. But no one wanted to wake him up early.

She grabbed the basket while nodding at her mother. "I'll go peddle these while you cook." She said. Auntie shouldn't be gone much longer, but she'll see the woman for dinner, for sure.
