Eventually they reached the end of the hall, revealing a familiar door he'd commented to a friend on the boat a few days ago that he thought was made out of mahogany wood. It looked worse for wear now, the paint a little chipped and the bottom of the door stained dark by the water, but he knew there was an exit. "The smoke room," he said, pushing the door open, "It connects to one of the dining halls that we can use to get above deck," he explained, stepping through and motioning for her to follow.

A feeling of unease set in, and as if the universe was set on proving him right the boat suddenly lurched again, turning one of the smaller but solid wood tables over, which then began to roll in their direction.
