Being able to duel properly filled Gertrude's soul with joy. Not any decorative rubbish, not charm your dress into a different colour, or conjure a Christmas tree. No, actual duelling.
She had her wand gripped in her hand, her eyes firmly planted on Miss Backus. When it came to dueling, Gertrude was very competitive. She had taken every opportunity over the last several years to enter into competitions, and hone her craft. She was ready.
After all the normal pleasantries, curtseying, etc., Gertrude was ready to go. With a wave of her wand, she attempted to gather the air into a gust of wind which would pick Miss Backus up into the air, and then drop her (more or less) gently onto the floor.
