It was odd, how they’d switched roles and yet, somehow still felt together. Usually, Jin was the broody quiet one and Ahn-Bo was the one cracking jokes. And it felt natural, which was stranger still. He finished his (second) bowl as he watched Jin-a stretch and complain. At least Jin’s whining hadn’t changed.

“Eun-Ho must not try to hunt you down often or you’d know tigers can climb trees,” he said pointedly. Setting his empty bowl and chopsticks down, he then returned to his cup of tea. Jin-a had settled down beside him, looking sleepy and sweet. A quick glance at the half full bowl that his friend had set next to him had him frowning slightly. For someone who had complained how hungry he was, he hadn’t eaten very much.

Ahn-Bo contemplated poking his friend about it, but he didn’t have the strength to pester him into doing anything. Instead, he used his left hand to lightly brush his fingers over Jin’s cheek. It wasn’t necessary that he sleep on the ground-especially after that show he’d put on like an old man-but once glance at his stained and ragged bedroll had him resisting the invitation. “Jin-a, did you bring a bedroll?”
