She angled a knowing smile at his response. Of course, he’d probably run through the rain like a mad man, trying to avoid getting wet. Irene could hardly blame him though, not when getting his hair wet would ruin his beautiful curls.
“You’re right, of course,” She forced a laugh, fully removing her hand from her pocket where the card sat. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize it would be so miserable out.” Irene winced, looking up at the sky as if admonishing it before she got up and held out her hand.
“Shall we find some place dry? Perhaps the Ivy Leaf to get some tea and warm soup?”
