Welcome to Charming, where swirling petticoats, the language of flowers, and old-fashioned duels are only the beginning of what is lying underneath…
After a magical attempt on her life in 1877, Queen Victoria launched a crusade against magic that, while tidied up by the Ministry of Magic, saw the Wizarding community exiled to Hogsmeade, previously little more than a crossroad near the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the years that have passed since, Hogsmeade has suffered plagues, fires, and Victorian hypocrisy but is still standing firm.
Thethe year is now 1895. It’s time to join us and immerse yourself in scandal and drama interlaced with magic both light and dark.
With the same account, complete eight different threads where your character interacts with eight different usergroups. At least one must be a non-human, and one a student.

Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ

Activity Check
Another activity check come and gone! The list of inactive accounts has been compiled and deactivations and list maintenance are underway :) If you lost a character you'd like back, you may post in Maintenance starting Wednesday, September 10th. If you have no currently active characters you can post in maintenance immediately!
(If you lost a character before the AC, you can post there whenever you'd like!)
All other news connected to the month rollover—Camp Charming, Posting Wizard, raffle, etc.— will be made in the coming week.
SWP13: The Vanishing Mists
The Ministry of Magic has begun to take stock of who may be lost. To assist them, surprising approximately no one, we have developed this glorious spreadsheet.
How does it work?
The first tab is characters who LIVE or WORK in Irvingly, who are not currently away at Hogwarts. All active characters, based on profile data, who fit this criteria at the time I made the spreadsheet have been added.
Please list your character's known status as of September 7th.
The second tab is for characters who do NOT live or work in Irvingly, but were there—or believed to be there—at the time. You can add characters as appropriate and note their known status as of September 7th.
In both tabs, NPCs can be added if they are part of a played character's current household OR their status is mentioned in a thread (ex. Rufina worries about her cousin Frances).
Vanishing = gone. Do not vanish your characters without seriously considering this!
Characters marked "safe" or "vanished" will stay that way unless a safe character runs into the mist, I guess? "Unknown" is for anyone currently missing but not confirmed one way or the other, and this can evolve in future.

Kayte here with some SWP updates to carry you into the weekend!
A Pause
Flummoxed, the Ministry has "pressed pause" on the matter, installing a magical barrier to buy them some time to decide how to approach the now completely-vanished village. (Hawthorne Hollow is still fine!)
Other than a skeleton crew to keep an eye on things, there's not a ton going on there right now.
Bring Out Your Vanished!
That doesn't mean that the situation isn't being felt! Players have until I get off work on Wednesday (around this time, actually!) to submit vanished and assumed-vanished characters and NPCs for the relevant Prophet article!
Ten Points to Gryffindor!
Ew no not literally ya girl is a Slytherin ffs
Don't forget, you need to accrue 5 SWP points to earn the relevant stamp. How do you go about doing so?
4 Points: Complete three threads with the same account directly related to the event. This could be set during the mists, depict your character dealing with displacement, or be related to future "clean-up" efforts. All threads must be 10+ posts, with 3+ being your own. Why not take a look at some of our lonely threads, or start some of your own?
2 Points: Participate in a staff-led thread directly related to the event, making at least three posts. We have a couple kicking around right now: Swallowbury | Hawthorne Hollow | Salem Square
2 Points: Sacrifice one of your played characters to the mist—either in part or in whole. This must be supported with a thread, either a read-only (500+ words) or with another player (10+ posts, 3+ being your own).
2 Points: Complete three threads with any accounts referencing the events. All threads must be 10+ posts, with 3+ being your own.
1 Point: Sacrifice one or more members of your NPC immediate family via the Prophet's"List of the Vanished"

All of your characters have been listed in the Character Directory—check back on your entries to make sure they were processed properly! Anyone reactivated this month will need to be placed back on.
Characters made before the last AC have posted at least once since the last AC
Profile has been filled in if not done during acceptance (Did you get a "DIY" PM? You'll need to do this!)
Your character's height is displayed in their mini-profile—if you reactivate an account, this may need doing!
Posting Wizard signups are now open for October, as are IC events for the month!
