Heyo, it's Alex here! I use any pronouns and am in the EST timezone. I tend to be around at all sorts of odd hours. Outside of this thread, I am best reached via Discord. I'm coming back to RP after a looong hiatus, so I'm still getting my feel for writing back. I am open to literally any and everything right now, though in the past I have favored fast paced drama interwoven with angsty, introspective, character development.

Once a vibrant girl, Ivory is now a brooding young woman using politics to escape her problems. She's put herself behind a number of progressive causes, so may be known to people who are regulars in that scene. She's looking for ~authenticity in a social world that feels quite superficial and is picky about who she lets in. In a phase of rediscovering other parts of herself and finding happiness again through messy emotions ... yeah. I'm still filling in her missing seven years, so there's lots of plotting possibility in that void and I'm down to fill it with all kinds of things!

FRIENDS: Especially open to schoolmates. Friends who would've seen her through her loss are very much needed! She struggles to make new connections not due to a lack of social grace, but rather a lingering hesitance to open herself to others. While she might not be as vivacious as she once was, she does tend to appreciate that personality type. She likes thinkers and artists. People who are truly interesting and can carry on conversations that go beyond high society gossip.

ENEMIES: She's quite the bleeding heart liberal (by the time's standards) and is firm about what she believes. This tends to rub staunchly traditional sorts the wrong way, and it would be fun to play with those sorts of ideological tensions. She's easily annoyed by people who seem shallow or unintelligent and can be somewhat rude in her dismissal of them if they catch her in a bad moment. Other than that, Ivy doesn't go out of her way to antagonize people.

HURLS: By her own design, she's had several unsuccessful seasons. It's not that she doesn't want marriage and a family, it's that she hasn't felt ready for it. She's still not all the way there, but has more of an active interest and is ~looking. I, the player, am craving romance plots. They don't have to work out - mess is fun! I'm putting her out there for anything. Someone she butts heads with, but still gravitates towards would be good fun. A man who is his own project for whatever reason. Whirlwind courtships, slow burns with someone who has hang ups about grief like her, comedy of errors type arrangements etc. etc.

OTHER: She's never met a charity case she didn't like. Anyone looking for a generous donor to lend money (and a strong voice) to a good cause can find an ally in her. Feel free to get her involved political stuff!!

Hey!

The closest I have to a school friend is Daesyn Mackenzie she's a couple of years younger and is developing a bit of a reputation for lack of etiquette and that she always dresses in male clothes (tailored for a woman though).

Regards hurling I have Conrad Thornton who is again a couple of years younger. He's handsome, I kind of liken him to the type of guy who goes on love island. Handsome, charming and oh so desirable, but if you actually unpick his personality he's pretty awful. Might work for a ship of regret.

Harrison Knight is my charming bachelor on the hunt for a wife. He's a pretty decent man considering UC and seems to have a taste for the less pliable women of society, he would hate to be bored. He's good for a seasons romance thread

Daesyn - First of all, love her! I think she's swell. For most of her time in school, Ivy was preoccupied with propriety and fitting in with the standards that a young woman of her standing ought to be meeting. Then, her parents died suddenly and that derailed her desire to participate in UC society as enthusiastically. They could've gotten friendly roundabout her seventh year, when Ivy started to seek out people who were different from the norm she'd grown accustomed to. I honestly think she'd find Daesyn fascinating and might like to pick her brain about curse breaking and her general perspectives on life.

Conrad - I did lol at the Love Island mention. But yes, you're right on about that being a regret ship situation. Their views of the world would clash, particularly when it comes to his attitude about women and their place in the world (from reading up on his personality). She's not the type to compromise on her beliefs or soften them in any case, never mind with a prospective marriage partner. I could definitely see an initial interest that becomes tension as they interact more. Potential for some funny moments of grim realization?

Harrison - Ivy is neither boring nor pliable haha. It's hard to spend time around her and be unaware of her views. She likes challenging people and being challenged in return. I'd be interested to see how they get on, as he's got ~substance to him that I think she'd really enjoy. Totally down for season romance threads!

Melinda Podmore is a head midwife and tasked with running charity events and fundraising to keep the Abbey running. She keeps a list of regular donors that I could add Ivory to, also!

Very much also this. For several reasons. I made a whole lonely plot post about it

IDK how purist her family is (Dempseys are halfblood) but he just recently got custody of his long-lost daughter which is a good reason for someone like a well-meaning aunt to be like "he clearly will be ready to settle down now, and listen once you fix him it's not a bad deal being related to the Minister of Magic, go get him!" which could be an impetus for her to have a conversation with him longer than the 5 seconds it would take for him to annoy her

Hi Alex! Welcome (back?) to Charming! <3 I have a few prospects to offer you—

Sabine Valenduris - is an UCPB like her and also tends to err on the more liberal side of life. She lives in Italy presently and very much leans into the Continental way of life vs. the staunchly English but her Mama is ready for her to Settle Down. So maybe bonding things there? Bean wants to publish something and has a slight track record for being a little bit messy haha but she’s very sweet.

Basil Foxwood - on the other end of the spectrum-ish, I have Basil here. He’s the Transfiguration Professor and Ravenclaw HOH at Hogwarts and he’s all things academic. He greatly supports womens continued learning after graduation and is not a huge fan of society .//cough So they also might have interests to align on? He’s not the Most social haha but he’s easy to throw out there! His Mama is also very tired of him being single rip.

Anthony Alderton is probably my most hurlable atm. He lives mostly in France and is actively searching for a wife but hasn’t had good luck as of late. He spends too much time abroad working on his ventures, but he has new business popping up in London! He’s goofy and sweet and very vanilla (SIGH) so I’m always looking for ways to shake him up!

Seojin Jeong then is my newest and latest baby. He is unapologetically based on Jinu from K-pop Demon Hunters .//COUGH but he’s a hot mess if you’re looking for drama! He’s new this year to the London season and presenting as an UCPB even though he’s half vampire and comes from a hell circus (more in his app or ping me if you want a sumamary!) I’m not sure what I’m looking for with him yet but IC he’s under orders to marry a wife from a prestigious family so he’s probably trying to get a lay of the social scene for now! Happy to chuck him into things too!!

Effie - Yup! Ivy's interest in feminism emerged some years ago, so I've been imagining her as decently established in spaces where those convos are happening. It'd be a fun way for them to connect.

I'm interested in the Don Juan project for sure (lol)! No significant purist leanings, so halfbloods are good to go. Hearing about his daughter would absolutely be enough to overcome the initial rep based skepticism, especially because of her own parental loss. A few possibilities are swirling, but I think the main one right now is Ivy feeling him out and getting the notion that his daughter might need someone more reliable in her life the longer they interact. Not looking to be a replacement mom exactly, but having inklings of that maternal desire to care, if that makes sense. Would be happy to figure out how to connect them and see what happens!
