Haunting Mist Afflicts Irvingly
Ed. Due to the gravity of the situation, this paper has decided it is in the public interest to publish a rare Sunday edition.
Individuals across Wizarding Britain are shaken following an incident in Irvingly village yesterday. Around noon, what witnesses have described as "a mist" began spreading from a point in Salem Square. Official sources state that, at present, it appears anything touched by that mist has vanished—though are quick to note that further investigation will be required.
Residents of Irvingly have been evacuated "as a precaution", says the Ministry of Magic, with a temporary encampment opening today just outside of Hogsmeade. For now, the village of Irvingly remains on lockdown; though the mist "does not appear to have spread", for the time being, no one is permitted in or out of the community. Buildings and businesses in nearby Hawthorne Hollow—including the stadium of the Hogsmeade Howlers and the Podmore Zoological Garden—remain unaffected and, technically, accessible to the public.
An emergency meeting of Ministry leadership has been called for this afternoon—the timing inopportune, due to some recent losses amidst the lycanthropy scandal. For now, citizens are asked to remain calm, and to continue life as normally as possible until further information can be made available.
