Jonah McKelvey 24 | MCPB | Werewolf rep » 9 | unattached Hufflepuff 1882-1889 Dragon Restraint Bureau Researcher ❧

Jonah is a confident and idealistic young man that harbours a major secret: he is a werewolf. Turned in 1892 only his best friend and older brother know about it. He spent a year or two being angsty and depressed about it but has since returned to his usual sunny, somewhat naive disposition. He is a musical prodigy of sorts and has a natural affinity for it. He specializes in singing, violin and piano! He would have loved to make a career of it but allowed himself to be talked into a more stable position in the Ministry instead. Which is fine, mostly, since he loved COMC and now has a lot of fun researching dragons. FRIENDS | Probably quite varied, he does not discriminate between gender and social class. He is established as having a male best friend (currently an open role) who was with him on a trip in 1892 when they stayed overnight in some faraway woods (not the Forbidden Forest). This trip saw Jonah turned into a werewolf. His sister is Annora McKelvey whom he is close to so if you know/are friendly enough with Annie to come around the McKelveys, you probably know Jonah. He also hangs out at the ABC to listen in on the meetings with Jude Wright and co. SCHOOLMATES | Jonah was a vibrant and outgoing Hufflepuff during his time in school. He was a prefect and was on the Hufflepuff Quidditch team from 1883-1889. He was Captain from 1887-1889. ROMANCE? | Jonah is still too young to be considered an eligible bachelor but that has never stopped him from falling in love. And out of it. On multiple occasions. And with various genders. The other party might not always have been aware of this though. He believes in Love but who knows if he has actually ever been in True Love.

  

The only real connections I have are Beatrix Alardice, who was two years behind him in Hufflepuff, and Killian...who has announced into my brainspace that he's afraid to interact with Jonah because he apparently reminds him of his dead lover Silas. Do with that information what you will.

Yay Bea! He was probably friendly with her but due to her parents poopooing on her being friendly with wc/mc (and probably definitely boys? lol), grew more distance in the years since graduating?

lol, i mean awww, poor Killian. I'm down for accidental 'Silas echos' as in Jonah unknowingly saying/doing something, having some mannerism, etc the exact way Silas would have in Killians presence.

We could always have Jonah and Bea run into each other at some point; meanwhile, I am ALL FOR the Silas echoes idea, like, omg. He has an open where he's grumbling about Morwenna ('cause he actually thought she was good at her job and was sad when she retired, and didn't seek the position out of respect and fear), but if you'd rather have something more specific I can throw something down?

Dragon research? I've got Madoc Yarwood and Gwyn Conway!

The former probably barely 'sees' him unless he proves himself interesting, but the latter is delighted to talk to a researcher who isn't Nigel xD

I have Effie May Woodcroft who works at the Ministry, was a year ahead of him in Gryffindor and also played quidditch as the seeker. She left after her OWLs though and has been working her way up the Ministry ranks ever since. So they're coworkers too! She's pretty open-minded and they could be work friends, so long as he tells her he supports feminists. xD

There's also Poppy MacFusty who is about to be a first year but her family is very involved with the whole dragon circle. I don't know why they'd thread but thought I'd toss it out there.

And Barney here is quite a bit older than him, but he also works at the Ministry so they would at least know each other in passing.
