June,

I found this ridiculous bauble in the market today and thought only of you my dearest. I've brewed you up a small drought of Felix Felicis in my free time to fill the vial. Use it wisely and write to me of all your antics!

Yours,
Poppy

Poppy,

This bauble is ridiculous, but I have taken the time to charm each one to do something different; perhaps it will be useful in the upcoming season when someone is boring us. I won't tell you what they do although I think you'll be amused once you see them in action.

And Felix Felicis! Oh, you are too kind. I will absolutely use it wisely, but the moment has to perfect, so I will save it for a rainy day.

yours,
J

June,

Oh how I miss you, though I do not so much miss London. Tell me, has anything dreadfully interesting happened of late? I'm curious for news but too determined to disconnect to bear asking my aunt.

Yours,
Poppy

Poppy,

London is London. I'm not sure anyone misses it once they've escaped its clutches.

There have been a few fun things happening, but my personal favorite was what happened at Mrs. Whimblebush’s luncheon. She collected donations for those who can't afford clothing for the Coming Out Ball, and she held a luncheon for everyone to see all the donations that were collected. It was boring, but Grace made us go so we wouldn't look like terrible people. Right in the middle of the gowns and cloaks was—wait for it—a sheer nightdress. Sheer, Poppy. Practically translucent.

It was whisked away in a flash, but not before half the room saw it. Mrs. Whimblebush looked ready to faint. Anyhow, it made the afternoon bearable.

I think a maid must have donated it by accident, but who knows. I would like to believe that there is someone out there trying to ruin a debutante's life. I would go the COB if I knew something exciting like that was going to happen.
yours,
June

Your letters never serve to disappoint, my dearest June.

What scandal! I do hope for propriety's sake that it was burnt (but dare to say, I should also have loved to steal it out of the waste bin just for fun. What color was it? Do you think anybody we know would be so brazen as to dare try it on?)

You're right in that London is a dreary place by comparison to the continent but... the longer I am away from it, the more I find a comfort in soft, rainy days. Perhaps it is just a symptom of my moods, but there is a solace in knowing the world has gone quiet behind a sheet of water that - in theory - gives life to all around it.

Do write to me more on the interesting on-goings of your season! I shall be away for a bit longer but hearing of it through your eyes makes me feel a great part!

Yours always,
Poppy

Poppy,
You wicked creature—I knew you’d want to fish it out of the bin! I didn’t get to look at it too closely (if only because it was whisked away too quickly), but someone swore it was blush pink with tiny pearl buttons. Pearl buttons. I don't recall seeing any pearls on it, but it certainly was very lacy. As for who might dare try it on... well, we both know that we would have taken turns trying it on in secrecy. I wish Ida was here, because she would have been the one to guard the door while we did so.

I hope the quiet continues to be kind to you.

I will be sure to write when something else exciting happens this season. I have a feeling it will be a good one.

yours,
J

Pearl buttons and lace, by Merlin! How I imagine it now! It would have looked far superior on you with your beautiful complexion, but alas we shall never confirm it now.

How I miss you my darling Juniper! I will confess, the season abroad is much the same as it is at home - though perhaps a bit more varied - and I only wish you were here to share it with me! Do you think your father would spare you for a fortnight if Aunt Viola wrote to him? We can make up some scheme about how dreadfully homesick I am and perhaps we can make our way to France for a visit with Beryl. I miss Ida very much, too. All of you, really.

Save your mischief for when we can manage it together!

All my love,
Poppy

My Darling Poppy,

What a wonderful idea. I can already hear Beryl laughing at the very suggestion of us visiting her, though you know she’d be the first to pour us wine and press something utterly wicked into our hands. If you say you’re miserably homesick (and perhaps hint at fainting in galleries?), I could play the concerned friend, and my father would have to say yes, lest he wants our family to look like we don't care about others.

He's known you for so long (a decade! can you believe it?) that I know he has a soft spot for you. Plus I am sure that he will look forward to a fortnight were Ophelia and I are not in the same vicinity. Please have your Aunt Viola write to him and I will take care of things on my end. I can't wait to see you.

yours,
J

June—

I’ve done it then! I’ve already placed the bug in my aunt’s ear and can confirm your father will be getting an owl this coming week asking if you might be spared for a fortnight or two to spend with us in Paris!

I am very excited to see you! I have to admit, I have all sorts of people I’d like to introduce you to, some friends, but in fact— just recently— a particular gentleman of interest has appeared. I can’t claim his acquaintance other than by sight but I say, June… he strikes quite the flattering silhouette. I should love to have your opinion, my darling friend, on whether he is worth another glance. (But I dare say, I know already that you will agree.)

Pack your bags quickly and let not a second longer than necessary go by before you’re on your way here!

All my love,
Poppy

Pops,

A mysterious gentleman with a silhouette worth remarking on? I will swear one of the maids to polyjuice as me if my father says I can't go. It wouldn't be the first time, although I suppose I should begin brewing that lest I need it. Or maybe a trip to Knockturn is just what a girl needs in order to prepare for a trip to Paris.

I shall begin rehearsing my skeptical expression now so that when I do inevitably agree with you about this figure of interest, I can pretend it was my own clever deduction and not your enchantment that led me there. Although I might already have that expression down, so my rehearsal may be short lived. It's exciting that someone may have caught your eye, and whoever it is shall be lucky to have you, if you deem him worthy. We definitely will get to know him while I am there.

If you decide you don't like him and he won't leave you alone, I have a couple spells I found in a book that I'm dying to try. They don't maim, but they certainly are embarrassing.

yours,
J
