Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ
Had it really come to this? Passing Charles Macmillan back and forth like an upright booby prize?

July 26th, 1895 — Sanditon Resort, Sussex

With the day's race still two hours away, you've decided to take in some of the resort's amenities and find yourself at the roller rink! Character A is already zooming about, clearly well-practiced, but Character B struggles to get even a couple of feet from the entrance. Will Character C fall somewhere in the middle, or prompt everyone to fall?

Available first to a group from thread roulette.
If not taken by August 4th, becomes a fair game open thread.

Warrington had taken it upon himself to check out the roller rink. He was practiced at this particular activity and it was a fun time waster as anything else. He had some bets riding on the race that would be happening today and this was a fun way to take his mind off them. Not that he was particularly fussed if he lost some funds but his mother might be cross.
Warrington is Character A!

How had he let Klaus talk him into this? Really he ought to have known better - had known better. And yet here he was looking like a walrus with so skates tied to its feet. The walrus might actually do better, Hugh though grimly as he stumbled yet again and went reeling for the railing to cling to ... again.

Never again. He was never ever doing this again.

Hugh is Character B

Contrary to what his mates from school might have thought - Ben was not an avid gambler. He had placed a few bets on the race earlier today based on what he could reasonably afford to lose, but other than that, he was mostly in it to have some fun and —

Roller skate, apparently.

There was a bit of a pang when he realized this was something he might have enjoyed doing with Ari; not that they’d be able to show any sort of affection in public. But there was a hint of nostalgia that could be found in this part of the Sanditon Resort still. He hadn’t roller skated in his youth as much as he had ice skated, however the concept was still the same. How different coult it be, standing on four wheels versus on a blade? Certainly less dangerous.

He was Head Auror after all. What could go wrong?
Character C incoming!

Klaus easily whizzed over to where his friend was still struggling. "Do you need a lesson in how to get started, Hugh?" He asked as he idly did small figure eights in his friends vicinity. "I'm happy to help you."

One of his figure eights brought him quite close to a strikingly handsome man which distracted him for a moment. "Oh, sorry about that. Almost crashed into you there, stranger."
