Winston,
I shall save you the trouble and assume that you think everything magical is "weird" until otherwise stated. I am sure that it will take some getting used to you, but by the time you leave Hogwarts, what you thought was impossible will have become second nature to you! The stairways are tricky for everyone; with any luck, your prefects will be able to help you get the hang of them.
As to your house, individuals from Hufflepuff are lauded as being loyal and hardworking. I myself was a Hufflepuff, many years ago, and so it is not without bias that I say that it is a very good place to be. Every house has its virtues, but I think that Hufflepuff's make for a better rounded individual. I hope that you will flourish there, as I did.
I would not have met your uncle had we not both been placed in that house, and would not have been at all receptive to him, had I wound up in Slytherin Tell me—does the fireplace in the common room still smell of spices?
Yours,
Elinor
