Did You Know?
Braces, or suspenders, were almost universally worn due to the high cut of men's trousers. Belts did not become common until the 1920s. — MJ

Mr and Mrs Skeeter: Love Poems Not Potions
One of the most talked about marriages from the recent pink letter scandal is that of Mr. and Mrs. Skeeter - or Mrs. Connolly as she has still insisted upon using rather than taking on the last name of her new husband. While this suggests a conflict between the couple, it might also just be a character flaw on Mrs. Connolly part. After all, it wouldn't be the first she has ever displayed. Between her career choices and the fact it required the twenty-seven-year-old - nearing twenty-eight if sources prove reputable - a letter dosed with amortentia to marry doubled with her family's strange ways in which the woman's husband comes to live with her family! we have seen plenty to make us question the validity of her choices and actions.

Even more, light has been shined upon them with the recent announcement last month that those who could procure both their pink letters and present them to the Ministry would be approved for an annulment - though what it does to their reputations can little be fixed by the Ministry. While little has heard of many newlyweds taking advantage of this offer, we do know that the Skeeters did stop by the Ministry. However when asked to submit their letters, Mrs. Connelly could produce her letter, the papers that Mr. Skeeter handed over to his lawyer were revealed to be poems. Love poems directed towards Mrs. Connelly. While the couple seemed confused, they left the Ministry without what they had come to seek after a fight that involved the newlyweds arguing with the lawyer and Mr. Skeeter physically knocking his wife's wand from her hands.

Last week, Witch Weekly shared a rumor they had heard about Mrs. Skeeter. This involved that she had in fact, intentionally had the letter sent to him as a ploy to get Barnabus Skeeter in a roll of his puppet where it is in fact now running the dueling commissioning office. Maeve Connelly wishing to do so might not be surprising to those who have passed followed developments of the political sphere as Mrs. Connelly. During Mr. Skeeter's campaign to continue the ban of women dueling, Mrs. Connelly was one of his opposers.

The question is now, with Mr. Skeeter unable to produce his letter, was there actually one? Could he have given Maeve Connelly a potioned letter to remove who he viewed as a political enemy? Or were the tables turned and it was actually the new Mrs. Skeeter who had the letters arranged for her benefit? Or maybe there actually is love between the couple even if now only one sided?
