One of the cheapest homeless shelters in Victorian London charged four pennies to sleep in a coffin. Which was... still better than sleeping upright against a rope? — Jordan / Lynn
If he was being completely honest, the situation didn't look good, but Sylvano was not in the habit of being completely honest about anything. No reason to start now.

Jingle Bells was written in 1857 but had a bit of a different arrangement and lyrics than what we know today. Additionally, it was first recorded in 1889 but that first record has long been lost.

The century of which we find our dear characters in is the same century that finds the very description of Santa Claus that many 21st century media enjoyers have come to know and love. From the 1823 publication of Clement Clarke Moore's A Visit from St. Nicholas - commonly referred to as 'Twas the night before Christmas - which brought along the popular descriptors of "a merry, round-bellied, magical gift-giver" (Rochester Trolley & Tour Co. 2025) to the works of Illustrator Thomas Nast from 1863–1881 that "refined Santa’s red outfit, workshop at the North Pole, and long white beard through his drawings in Harper’s Weekly" (Rochester Trolley & Tour Co. 2025).

Just remember folks, there is plenty of St. Nicholas lore out there to explore for your delightful curious minds, and wonderous writing potential!
