Morgan dropped a heavy tome on the table and tried to ignore the rather loud noise it made as it hit the table. She could've probably done that in a more ladylike manner. She knew that had the etiquette instructor been around they would've been having words about how a lady of her station ought to be acting. Morgan, had she more confidence, would've probably scoffed at the womans remarks for she liked to think except for a mistake every now and then she was flawless. She had tried her very best to be because when she wasn't... she felt a dozen eyes upon her whispering about her sisters.

Disregarding such thoughts she sat down and pulled out the strange seed pod she'd found over the Christmas break and set it beside the book on the table and began to flick through the book trying to see if she could figure out what plant it came from from the illustrations. She hadn't had much luck so far and knew she could easily go ask some of the older students, or the professor or perhaps her father but she wanted to figure it out for herself. It was hard going though because a great many of the Herbology books seemed intent on mentioning the plants themselves and rarely included adequate descriptions of the seeds but she was stubborn and, most importantly, a girl with time on her hands as her housemates were currently engaged in some petty politicking that Morgan had decided to stay well out of because she didn't need to be a seer to know that it would all end in tears.

She turned another page. This book at least included pictures of the seeds of the plants however it failed to mention little else that would've proved useful in identifying her seedpod.... however far from being disheartened Morgan found herself entranced and excited in the mystery she had found all by herself.
